Turkey has reported 169 fires in the last 24 hours, with Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı outlining the country's fire control strategy. 163 fires have been fully contained, including Antalya Kaş and Isparta Eğirdir. Six ongoing fires in five provinces, including Mersin Gülnar and Muğla Seydikemer, are largely under control. The intensity of fires in Antalya Alanya and Muğla Fethiye has been reduced. Heavy aerial and ground operations continue for fires in Aydın Çine and Balıkesir Gömeç.
Turkey's fire control strategy is critical for national security and environmental sustainability. Such disasters can impact financial markets and commodity prices, while long-term climate change mitigation will require new policies.
