Bitcoin's Throne Shaken: RWA Perpetuals Establish New Dominance in Crypto Markets
Kripto para piyasalarında uzun süredir tartışılmaz bir hakimiyete sahip olan Bitcoin vadeli işlem sözleşmeleri, geleneksel finans varlıklarının tokeni

Bitcoin perpetual futures, long considered the undisputed king of crypto markets, face their most significant challenge yet from the tokenization of traditional financial assets. Perpetual futures tied to tokenized stocks and commodities have nearly matched Bitcoin's trading volume on major platforms like Hyperliquid and Binance. This shift serves as the most concrete evidence that markets are pivoting from speculative digital assets towards products derived from the real world, marking a major paradigm shift in investor behavior.
The RWA Wave Challenging Bitcoin Volumes
According to data provided by Talos, the combined seven-day volume of tracked RWA perpetuals reached $61.7 billion. This figure represents 99.2% of the volume of Bitcoin perpetuals on Hyperliquid and Binance, the two centers where trading activity is most concentrated. This rapid rise in the market indicates that investor appetite is not limited to native cryptocurrencies but is shifting towards tokenized traditional assets that can be traded 24/7.
Tokenized Equities Take Center Stage
Analyzing the driving force behind the volume increase, it is evident that tokenized equity contracts dominate the market. Investors are showing significant demand for taking leveraged positions in shares of major tech companies or industrial giants on the blockchain, without being restricted by the trading hours of traditional stock exchanges. Hyperliquid alone generated $25.1 billion in RWA perpetual trading volume during the week of July 13-19, surpassing the combined volume of all other perpetual categories on its platform.
The On-Chain Future of Traditional Finance
This development is not merely a volume increase but is perceived as a strong signal that the structure of traditional finance is changing fundamentally. Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, stated that the growth on Hyperliquid signals crypto markets moving "away from speculating on endogenous digital commodities" and evolving towards real-world value. Jeffrey Sprecher, CEO of Intercontinental Exchange (owner of the NYSE), urged regulators to create a "level playing field" that does not hinder the development of blockchain-based trading, emphasizing the importance of 24/7 on-chain perpetuals. Pantera Capital predicts that these instruments could become dominant trading instruments beyond crypto, citing advantages like no contract expiration and continuous price discovery.
From a software perspective, these data points clarify that blockchain infrastructure is transforming from a mere "money" experiment into the new primary operational layer for global capital. The fact that performance-oriented derivative exchanges like Hyperliquid, built on top of an L1, can offer 24/7 uninterrupted liquidity by eliminating the inefficiencies of central exchanges is forcing the TradFi world into this ecosystem. RWA perpetuals matching Bitcoin volume is not a "point" in the market's maturation stage, but rather an inevitable "result" of capital's search for efficiency.
