Samsung SDS and Upbit Partnership: Setting New Standards in Stablecoins and AI Payments

Samsung SDS is engaging in discussions about stablecoin infrastructure, digital asset systems, and AI-based payment models with Dunamu, the operator of South Korea's leading crypto exchange Upbit. Samsung SDS CEO Lee Jun-hee highlighted the company's differentiated capabilities in digital asset infrastructure through the Korea Securities Depository's tokenized securities platform project and the end-to-end validation of the full stablecoin process. This collaboration follows Samsung Electronics' announcement of stablecoin support for Samsung Wallet, deepening Samsung's ties to South Korea's digital asset sector. Samsung SDS expects the partnership with Dunamu to accelerate its growth in the digital asset infrastructure market. The company's Q2 report showed a 17% increase in cloud services revenue and a 5.9% rise in total revenue (3.72 trillion KRW), reflecting continued expansion in AI and cloud services. Samsung SDS has outlined ambitious plans to expand its AI infrastructure capacity to 230 MW by 2029 and over 800 MW by 2031.

This partnership solidifies Samsung's leadership in South Korea's digital finance sector, marking a new era in stablecoins and AI-driven payments. Markets will be watching closely as this development unfolds.
