National Electric Train Enters Service: TÜRASAŞ' 11,551 Journeys Since 2023

Turkey's domestically developed Milli Electric Train sets will commence operations on the Uzunköprü-Halkalı-Uzunköprü route on July 22. Produced by TÜRASAŞ, these trains reach a speed of 160 km/h while offering a 324-passenger capacity, marking a transformation in regional transportation. Minister Uraloğlu highlights a 20-year locomotive legacy; since 2023, the trains have completed 11,551 journeys, covered 1,122,000 km, and transported 2,634,363 passengers.

TÜRASAŞ' National Electric Train Initiative

  • Elevates comfort standards with 322 seats and 2 wheelchair areas
  • Enhances Istanbul connectivity for Uzunköprü residents
  • Strategic step for first implementation beyond Adapazarı-Gebze line
  • Investors focused on infrastructure and energy efficiency view such local manufacturing projects as part of 'rural development' trends. TÜRASAŞ's reliance on domestic capabilities to reduce external dependency attracts market attention.
