Bitmine has deliberately slowed its ETH buying pace while allocating $86 million toward a stock buyback.
ETH Buying Pace Decelerates: Figures and Rationale
The firm purchased only 7,430 ETH last week, a transaction worth $14 million at current prices. This marks one of the smallest weekly acquisitions since its treasury strategy launch in June 2025.
Strategic Weight of the Stock Repurchase
Chairman Tom Lee noted that the repurchase of 5.5 million shares at an average price of $15.62 is the primary driver behind the reduced ETH buying tempo.
Asset Base and Staking Revenue
Bitmine’s total assets stand at $11.5 billion, comprising 5.8 million ETH (about 4.8% of circulating supply) and 207 BTC among other holdings. The company has staked 4.92 million ETH (85%) on its MAVAN platform, projecting annual revenue of $247 million.
Bitmine’s strategic shift creates a buffer against ETH price volatility, while the stock buyback may tighten short‑term liquidity and boost volatility. Over the long run, the 5% ETH ownership target and robust staking yields position the firm strongly in both crypto and traditional capital markets.
