BIST 100: Mixed Day Amid Global Tensions and Macro Data

The BIST 100 index on Borsa İstanbul closed down 0.09% at 14,079.97, following a 0.36% decline at the opening. The banking sector gained 0.21%, while holdings remained flat. Among sectors, textile and leather gained 1.73%, while financial leasing and factoring lagged at 9.24%. Global markets, despite macro data showing slower inflation in the U.S., remain volatile due to geopolitical tensions and sharp swings in tech stocks. Analysts highlight today's data agenda, including budget balance and Eurozone trade balance, while noting key technical levels for BIST 100 at 13,900 and 13,800 (support) and 14,100 and 14,200 (resistance).

With global tensions and U.S. macro data in focus, markets are likely to adopt a more cautious approach. A test of support levels could push BIST 100 back toward the 14,000 level.
