As Eid al-Adha approaches, many people have the same question on their minds: what will the sacrificial animal prices be in 2026? Compared to last year, an increase is expected due to feed costs, transportation fees, and inflation data. According to the latest information from livestock breeders and commodity exchanges, there will be a noticeable increase in the live weight kilogram prices of cattle and sheep. In major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, prices will be higher than in the interior regions of Anatolia due to transportation and accommodation costs.

In 2026, sacrificial animal prices have increased compared to last year due to both feed costs and general inflation. Although prices vary from region to region across Turkey, the average figures are quite striking. Last year in Istanbul, an average cattle animal was sold between 90,000 and 250,000 TL, while a sheep was sold between 10,000 and 25,000 TL. This year, sheep are expected to be between 18,000 and 45,000 TL, and cattle between 140,000 and 400,000 TL. On the other hand, share prices have also shown a significant increase. The price for a 1/7 share of cattle is expected to be between 30,000 and 55,000 TL.

Looking at sacrificial animal prices city by city, we see that prices are higher in metropolitan areas. In Istanbul, cattle are expected to be between 140,000 and 400,000 TL, sheep between 18,000 and 45,000 TL, and the price for a 1/7 cattle share between 30,000 and 55,000 TL. In Ankara, cattle are expected to be between 110,000 and 350,000 TL, sheep between 18,000 and 40,000 TL, and the price for a 1/7 cattle share between 28,000 and 50,000 TL. In Izmir, cattle are expected to be between 140,000 and 330,000 TL, sheep between 18,000 and 45,000 TL, and the 1/7 cattle share between 30,000 and 50,000 TL. In regions such as Anatolia, prices will be lower. Cattle are expected to be between 100,000 and 280,000 TL, sheep between 15,000 and 35,000 TL, and the 7-person cattle share between 25,000 and 45,000 TL. The Head of Religious Affairs, Safi Arpaguş, announced that the 2026 sacrificial slaughter fee via proxy by the Turkish Religious Foundation (TDV) has been set at 18,000 TL domestically and 7,000 TL abroad.
