Uber to Acquire Delivery Hero for $14.8 Billion: Creating a Global Delivery Giant

Uber has agreed to acquire Germany’s Delivery Hero for $14.8 billion, forming a global delivery powerhouse. The deal combines Uber Eats with Delivery Hero’s brands across 99 countries, including foodpanda, PedidosYa, and talabat. Uber will retain its strong presence in 14 markets, selling those operations to SSW Partners for $1.6 billion. Delivery Hero reported $236 billion in orders in 2025. Uber will preserve Delivery Hero’s Berlin headquarters and workforce until 2029. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2027.
